Grant Coordinator

Position Description:  The Grant Coordinator supports a wide range of operational and administrative needs, under the direction of the Executive Director. The Coordinator is responsible for developing, reviewing, researching, and reporting on grants. The position requires a high attention to detail, keen troubleshooting, self-driven curiosity, and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate closely with others.
 
Primary responsibilities:
·Counsel grant seekers on grant requests and general information inquiries.
·In conjunction with the Executive Director,
üevaluate the feasibility of grant proposals, including project budgets, and applicant’s organizational capacity to achieve proposed objectives.
üguide the Foundation’s Distribution Committee in the creation of grant slate recommendations.
ümonitor progress of grantees assuring that grant requirements are met, conduct site visits, track achievement of key objectives, review project financial reports.
üreport grantee and Foundation impact to governance and community.
·Conduct research projects as assigned.
·Remain informed on Cedar Valley community needs & opportunities, priority areas of the Foundation, and emerging issues & trends in philanthropy; build connections in the non-profit sector.  
·Create/update the Foundation’s external communications including website, annual report, press releases, social media, and others.
·Support board and committee meetings (meeting prep, notetaking), maintain the Foundation’s physical office and operations (ordering supplies, engaging with vendors)

·Effective problem solver with good judgment and decision making.
·Motivated self-starter with the ability to initiate and follow through with minimal supervision, highly organized and detail oriented.
·Excellent interpersonal skills to include communication with active listening, relationship building while balancing divergent views, dependability and professionalism, among others.
·Proficient with Microsoft Office/365 suite of products and design software tools.
·Ability to gain proficiency with Foundation’s grant management system.
·Previous non-profit or foundation experience preferred.
·Bachelor’s degree.

The starting salary for the Grant Coordinator position is $60,000, adjusted based on experience & credentials.
