The Black Hawk County Gaming Association seeks a highly organized and resourceful Grant Coordinator to support the grantmaking and administrative functions of our organization. This position is full-time equivalent at 32 hours per week.
Position Description: The Grant Coordinator will support a range of operational and administrative needs, under the direction of the Executive Director. To perform this job, successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with others, think strategically, and manage multiple priorities/deadlines.
Primary responsibilities:
Grantmaking
- Provide excellent customer service to applicants throughout the grant progress to ensure alignment, high quality applications, and understanding of rules/regulations.
- Prepare accurate materials to aid in board decision-making, including data analysis.
- Track grant progress and monitor documentation, including invoices and budgets.
- Manage all forms, email templates, and reports in our online grant software, Foundant.
- Schedule and attend site visits, presentations, and professional development opportunities to obtain local and state knowledge on community issues impacting the Greater Cedar Valley.
Administrative/Operational Support
- Help develop, prepare, and track board materials in accordance with state regulations, including creating agendas and writing/managing meeting minutes.
- Regularly create/update the organization’s external communication vehicles, including emails, press releases, annual reports, website, and social media.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of BHCGA’s annual event.
- Manage and organize the organization’s electronic filing system.
- Maintain the physical office and operation by ordering supplies, answering phones, etc.
- Attend community events/meetings as the BHCGA representative when called upon, occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- Support the Executive Director and Board as needed. Other duties as assigned.

- Collaborative team-player who can also work independently on projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to gain proficiency with our grant management system, Foundant.
- Previous nonprofit, city, or foundation experience preferred.
- Canva experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Competitive benefit package (including health insurance, dental, and vision) with PTO and federal holidays off. Hourly wage starting range $30-35 per hour based on experience, guaranteed 32 hours per week.
