We are currently seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Rest Assured Nurse - RN to join our Rest Assured team in Waterloo, Ia.
Job Overview
Our Rest Assured team provides compassionate nursing support to hospice patients and their families as needed during the evening and overnight hours to ensure that urgent needs are met. Candidates must be available to provide support on Monday - Thursday evenings from 4:00pm-8:00am on an as needed basis. Most patient visits occur between 4:00pm-10:00pm.
Candidate also must be willing to travel to any Cedar Valley Hospice location and provide expert care according to our organizational standards. No weekends or holidays required.
The salary for this position is $65,000/year. Guaranteed salary – regardless of hours worked. Average expected worked time is approximately 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Responds to all calls received by the answering service on weeknights and provides direct hospice nursing care to patients in order to maintain highest level of comfort and quality of life.
- Completes assigned visits that are scheduled on weeknights by Primary Care Nurse.
- Consults with Physician for appropriate orders and communicates patient condition changes and the needs for medical intervention. Uses teaching, assessment, observation, and intervention skills to provide comfort and care while maximizing patient/family quality of life.
- Manages the individualized patient/family plan of care and makes necessary revisions as status/needs change.
- Participates in hospice admissions process as needed with accurate and thorough documentation.
- Works collaboratively with the other Rest Assured Nurse to ensure all on call needs are met agency wide.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Iowa state RN license.
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software and have basic typing skills.
- Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
- 2 years of recent experience as a nurse in a related field.
- 1 year of experience in hospice or home care nursing.
- Experience working in a team environment.
Physical/Other Requirements
- Ability to move 50lbs with our without accommodation.
- In an 8-hour day, employee may remain in a stationary position 1-5 hours and move about inside CVH site offices/locations, meeting spaces, patient residences, and healthcare facility locations 3-7 hours (or vice versa).
